The Exam Programm in the HAVO / VWO department is stated in the PTA (Programma van Toetsing en Afsluiting). In the PTA all the test that the student will make until the exam is written down. Students and teacher have the obligation to be sure that all the test are made, in order to validate the diploma of the student.

On of the components of the PTA is the Profile Assignment. In order to succeed in the HAVO / VWO all students need to write the Profile Assignment. Below you can download the PDF about the Profile Assignment.

Dear Viewers,

"Today is the Tomorrow we dreamt about Yesterday"

We welcome you to our Havo/Vwo website,

On behalf of the Havo/Vwo department, I take this opportunity to wish you and your child(ren) a successful school year.

MPC Havo/Vwo, is the only Dutch Secondary School on pre-university level, on the island of Sint Maarten. Since last school year, stricter Exam Regulations have been introduced. In order to meet these requirements we also have  had to adapt our promotion criteria. The revised promotion criteria can be found in our “bevorderingsnormen boekje”. A student that has the potential to do the work will also have to show this all year round. His/Her potential will have to reflect in all his/her grades.

At present we cater to 310 students, 258 in the Havo stream and 52 students in the Vwo stream.  This year again, after many years, we see an increase in the amount of students attending the HAVO. We are back to 3 Havo 3 classes. The third year is a very important year for the students in HAVO. Besides having all subjects they also have to make decisions that will impact the rest of their educational career. Guidelines, to assist students and their parents when choosing a subject and ultimately a profile, have also been stipulated.

As an educational institution we not only cater to their education, but also their mental, physical and social needs. Our students look forward to taking part in or being part of the following activities:

·         Extreme Survival competition,

·         Math A-lympiad in the Netherlands,

·         School exchange with Radulphus College in Curacao,

·         Math’s day for our third graders,

·         Different sports, volleyball, baseball, football, swimming etc

·         SXM relay race both for students and teachers,

·         MPC choir winners of the SXM Idol competition,

·         MPC  Interact Club,

·         Pilot program international educational  trip to the Netherlands

·         And many more ……………

Beside the Career Guidance Counselor, the Care Team and  the mentor to assist your child on his or her educational journey, we also have two coordinators.

Mrs. Maricia Ellis (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) is the coordinator for grades 1 till 3 and Mrs. Jacqueline Duggins-Horsford (This email address is being protected from spambots. We thank you for choosing the Milton Peters College Havo/Vwo department for your child’s educational journey.
